Owner Jon Radowski has been designing, constructing, flying and maintaining hot air balloons and airships of all sizes and shapes since 1998, and has been totally immersed in ballooning and aviation for nearly his entire life.

Custom Nine Designs is the one and only company specializing in replacement hot air balloon envelopes for experienced balloon owners who have had enough of the endless climb of equipment prices. Our envelopes are STC approved for most balloon systems. Because we have obtained FAA approval for each, unlike an experimental envelope, you retain the commercial privileges of your system.
Most hot air balloon operators with a worn out envelope have been programmed to think in terms of a top half repair using the original manufacturer's overpriced fabric or a new envelope from the original manufacturer priced close to the complete system. For over sixteen years we have been providing a third alternative - replacement envelopes or replacement panels at nearly half their original cost.

Aerostar International, Inc. is no longer manufacturing hot air balloon systems or major hot air balloon components.

Raven Aerostar transfered its hot air balloon parts business to several companies and ceased the sale and manufacture of these parts within Aerostar. Raven Aerostar will continue to monitor and manage safety and airworthiness issues as defined in FAR Par 21.
